Alysia Gatchalian McDonough is an Oakland native and resident. She has worked in the nutrition and health care industry since 2004, focusing on issues such as childhood obesity at a non profit and with the Nutrition Department at Kaiser Permanente. Unsatisfied with mainstream nutrition, Alysia decided to pursue a more holistic and whole foods approach to nutrition.
Alysia is a Cal Poly graduate with a BS in Nutritional Science and attended The Nutritional Therapy Association, graduating as a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. As a nutritional therapist, Alysia seeks to help people empower themselves to live healthier and more vibrant lives through proper nutrition.Alysia assesses the body’s nutritional deficiencies and addresses those weaknesses through diet, supplements, and lifestyle changes. She believes in eating real, traditional, nourishing, and whole foods as a lifestyle. She believes eating should be delicious, social, and pleasurable. In her free time, Alysia runs, cooks, gardens and spends time with family and friends. She shares this love of Nourishing Self with her 3 children, husband, and 8 hens.
